Rachel
Rachel was 21 and in the final year of her photography degree when she started to experience bleeding during and after sexual intercourse. After visiting her GP, and undergoing numerous tests it was confirmed that Rachel had cervical cancer.

Since her diagnosis Rachel has had further tests as well as surgery to remove her cervix and surrounding lymph nodes. Rachel is really passionate about raising awareness and educating other young women about cervical cancer so that they are aware a healthy lifestyle, cervical screening and vaccination are the best ways to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.

Nearly 3 women die of cervical cancer every day.1

Almost all cases are caused by a common virus.2

You could catch the virus, called HPV as soon as you start having intimate relationships

The virus is usually cleared naturally but sometimes it persists and could lead to cervical cancer.3

A healthy lifestyle, cervical screening and vaccination are the best ways to reduce your risk of cervical cancer.4-6
